Helping You Help Your Food Pantry

My mom and I realized that it would be a good idea to show others how they can help their local food pantries. Here's an idea on how to get full size deodorant for about 29 cents. If you go to Dove's website here: http://www.dove.us/visiblysmooth#/visiblysmooth/coupon.aspx/ you can print a coupon for $2 off a Dove deodorant. You can print this coupon twice. (Have others you know print it out for you as well).

Now go to this site (which houses Target in-store coupons) http://www.organicgrocerydeals.com/forums/view.php?pg=coupon_generator and
scroll down to the coupons under "expiring 9/12" and print the Dove $1/1 deodorant coupon

Now here's what a lot of people don't know. Many stores, such as Target, will accept their own store coupon AND a manufacturer's coupon. The Dove deodorant specified in the manufacturer's coupon costs $3.29 at our Target. So, when you take a $2 manufacturer's coupon and the $1 Target coupon, you can purchase this deodorant for only 29 cents.

Making a Difference With Coupons

Each month, me and my mom will give $25 of our own money towards purchasing items for the local food pantries. $25 might not seem like a lot, but when you combine it with a sale AND coupons, it can make a huge difference. The picture above shows what we'll be donating this week. Before coupons and sales, all of these items would have cost almost $120. With sales and coupons, we were able to buy all of this for under $25. What we're donating: 3 packs of diapers, 21 packs of Huggies diaper wipes, six Reach toothbrushes, one tube of Colgate toothpaste, 4 Dove deodorants.

UPDATE: If you're in Traverse City, you can drop your coupons off at the West Bay Subway restaurant (it's located on M-22). Please feel free to keep and use the Subway coupons in this week's paper (since we can't donate perishable goods).

We're looking for coupons

While we use A LOT of coupons from the newspaper, there are often coupons that are available online for printing. Here's a coupon for Dove deodorant. You can print it twice and by doing so, you'll help us buy deodorant for the local food pantries! You can either drop the coupons in the mail or you can drop them off with your Sunday coupons.
